Łuk Triumfalny Rua Augusta położony w północnej części Praça do Comércio. Jego budowę zaplanowano na rok 1759, w ramach odbudowy Pombaline po zniszczeniu śródmieścia Lizbony przez trzęsienie ziemi w 1755 roku, według projektu Eugénio dos Santosa. Do 1843 r. łuk wznosił się jedynie do wysokości szczytu, w zespole kompozytowych kolumnad ustawionych w 1815 r., oczekujących na zwieńczenie. Następnie ogłoszono konkurs na dokończenie dzieła, który wygrał architekt Veríssimo José da Costa. Prace nad łukiem triumfalnym, które zamknięto już w 1862 r. z okazji ślubu D. Luísa I, jak widać na ówczesnych fotografiach, ukończono dopiero w 1873 r.
