Pierwsza wzmianka o Wiedersbergu pojawiła się w dokumencie z 1267 roku. Znaleziska fragmentów wskazują, że zamek został zbudowany około 1200 roku, w 1288 roku należał do Eberharda von Wiedersberga. Zamek został zniszczony w czasie wojny trzydziestoletniej i nigdy nie został odbudowany. W XX wieku przeprowadzono różne prace renowacyjne, a zamek jest chronionym zabytkiem architektury i archeologii.
