Wysoki mur otaczający miasto Saint-Malo tworzy pętlę o długości około dwóch kilometrów . Można zejść i wrócić, gdziekolwiek chcesz, korzystając z różnych klatek schodowych znajdujących się przy bramach. Pierwsze mury zbudował Jean de Chatillon w 1155 roku. Jednak większość obecnych murów obronnych została zbudowana przez Garangeau, architekta Vaubana, w XVIII wieku.
