Trzon budynku ratusza w Luckau sięga średniowiecza. Pożary miasta w XVII w. zmusiły go do odbudowy. Obecny wygląd ratusza opiera się zasadniczo na przebudowach z lat 1850/51 i 1922. W 1996 roku budynek przeszedł gruntowny remont. Dziś ratusz lśni nowym blaskiem. Obraz nawiązuje do oryginalnej kolorystyki i nadaje budynkowi własny charakter. W piwnicy znajduje się karczma „Ratskeller”.
