Pelourinho de Elvas

Pręgierz, oznaka władzy i ekspozycji, przybył do Elvas w XIX wieku. XVI, wzniesiony z marmuru, w stylu manuelińskim, na ówczesnej Praça Nova (dziś Praça da República), gdzie pozostawał do 2 października 1872 roku, kiedy to został rozebrany i zniszczony.

W 1940 roku Vitalino de Albuquerque przedstawił projekt rekonstrukcji pręgierza wykonanego na podstawie ryciny. Wykorzystując oryginalne części przechowywane w Muzeum Miejskim i zastępując te brakujące, w Largo de Santa Clara zbudowano pręgierz, który możemy oglądać dzisiaj.
