Jest to ogromna, zbudowana z piaskowca wieża Albarrã, która umożliwiała dostęp do głównej ulicy miasta, Rua da Sé (dawniej Rua Direita), prowadzącej do Meczetu i Alcáçovy. Drzwi chronione są załamaniem, które miało utrudniać dostęp (cecha charakterystyczna dla tradycji Almohadów). Nad nimi góruje wieża, która kiedyś pełniła funkcję ratusza.
