Vålandstårnet znajdujemy na Vålandshaugen 84 m npm. który jest najwyższym punktem okręgu Eiganes i Våland. Wieża zbudowana jest na miejscu, które wcześniej nazywało się Axelsborg. Vålandstårnet to wieża widokowa zbudowana w 1895 roku z wartownią pierwszego w mieście basenu ciśnieniowego. Zanim wybudowano dzisiejszą wieżę Våland, w tym miejscu musiała znajdować się wieża widokowa. Została zbudowany podczas wojny napoleońskiej w latach 1807-1814. Creative Commons: Toba, Simenhjort
