Zwenkauer See jest sztucznym jeziorem położonym około 12 km na południe od centrum Lipska, w sercu Lipskiej Nowej Krainy. Powstał z kopalni odkrywkowej węgla brunatnego Zwenkau, która została dopuszczona do użytku turystycznego 9 maja 2015 roku. Jezioro Zwenkau o powierzchni 9,7 km² i obwodzie 22 km jest największym jeziorem w Lipskiej Nowej Krainie. Dzięki dobrym wiatrom i falom jest również obszarem żeglarskim regionu. Oprócz żeglarstwa można tu uprawiać inne sporty wodne, a jeziroro można obejechać wygodną ścieżką rowerowową. Znajdziemy tu też kilka darmowych parkingów na nocleg.
