18 września 1944 nacjonaliści ukraińscy z OUN-UPA zamordowali tutaj 8 Polaków. W latach 1946–1947 spalili we wsi większość gospodarstw polskich i pozostałych po Ukraińcach przesiedlonych do ZSRR. Cerkiew greckokatolicka w Maniowie zbudowana została w roku 1841. Był to obiekt drewniany, trójdzielny, na planie podłużnym. Została zniszczona po roku 1944. Jako ciekawostkę dodam, że w 2023 roku został tu odnaleziony cerkiewny dzwon, który został zakopany pod ruiną dzwonnicy.
