Ruiny zamku położone są w południowo-zachodnich Czechach na Szumawie, w wiosce Klenová. Pierwsza wzmianka o zamku pochodzi z 1287 roku, strzegł on wtedy szlaku handlowego z Bawarii. Gdy zamek utracił swoje strategiczne położenie, został opuszczony i popadał w ruinę. Po II wojnie światowej warownia należała do słynnej czeskiej malarki Vilmy Vrbovej. W 1951 budowle przejęło państwo czechosłowackie i udostępniło turystom. Obecnie w zamku urządzono galerię sztuki, zwiedzamy go odpłatnie, sami bez przewodnika. Parking pod zamkiem jest darmowy.
